Manage 3d objects

In modern browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer from version 11) you can display 3d objects directly in the browser without additional plug-ins. (Example)

The 3D objects must be in *.obj format (with *.mtl material file) and, if necessary, with textures in *.jpg or *.png format.

This function is available in the following packages:

wisy base

wisy advanced

wisy pro

wisy expert

Such 3D models must first be created by a 3d program (e.g. 3ds / Maya / Softimage (Autodesk), Animation:Master (Hash Inc.), etc.) or a CAD program (e.g. SolidWorks (Dassault Systèmes), AutoCAD (Autodesk), etc.) and then exported as an OBJ format. Please refer to the manufacturer’s specifications to see whether your 3D/CAD software can export this format.

Please refer to the description in the upload section for the maximum file size.

Important: 3d data provided in this way can theoretically also be downloaded!

Info: This type of 3d object management has a crucial advantage: You can exchange 3d objects globally without having to control every single subpage. If you exchange the file in the backend, it is automatically exchanged in the entire front end. Of course, this also applies to all other attributes.

Name
Enter the name of the 3d object here.

Description
Enter a description of the 3d object here. It is displayed to persons whose browser does not allow 3d display.

Enter the material file for the 3d data here.

Texture file(s)
Enter the corresponding texture files in *.jpg or *.png format here.

3d object adjustments
This allows you to adjust the initial position, rotation and scaling of the 3d object. The data must be specified in the X-axis/Y-axis/Z-axis format. An object that is to be displayed with 100 units offset upwards must therefore have the value "0.0/100.0/0.0" entered for "Position".

Background color
By default, the background color of the 3d room is transparent. If you specify a color here, that color will be displayed.

Auto rotation
Specify whether the 3d object is to rotate around its own axis or not.

Show control elements
Specifies whether you want to give the user interaction options or not. (This applies not only to the elements but also to the rotation of the object using the mouse.

Show axis
Specify whether the X, Y and Z coordinate axes should be visible in 3D space.

Camera mode
Specify whether the 3d object should be displayed perspectively (as captured by the human eye or a camera) or orthogonally (without perspective distortion).

3d Object groups
