Create new image / Edit image

Name
Enter the name of the image. It is used to identify the image, defines the file name, and appears as a tooltip on the Web site when you hover your mouse over it.

Alt text
The alt text is read by browsers for blind people and evaluated by search engines. It should be defined by a description of a picture such as " A house with a red roof and white walls in Bruchsal" and can make a significant contribution to the searchability of your website.

Image file
Enter the file here. To do this, click on "Browse" and select the file on your computer. Then confirm with "Open".
If you edit an image, you have to deactivate the "Keep" checkbox first in order to be able to upload a new file.
You can see the maximum file size and the permitted file types at the "Image file" option.

Image group
In which image group/upload group should the image be displayed?

Change resolution for web
Depending on whether image size presets have been defined or not, you can directly select a preset for the image size or reduce the image to the maximum content size (if necessary). The image is then fitted proportionally into the preset size and then saved in a reduced size.

CSS-Class
You can use CSS classes to assign special optical definitions (e.g. a shadow, a border, etc.) to images provided by the developers. If you need this for your website, we will inform you during the training.

Usable by
Here you can define whether the image file should only be displayed for the upload end or whether it may also be used by other admin users.

Image editing

You can manipulate uploaded images directly in the browser using image editing. For example, you can crop an image, resize the image (or, depending on the setting, enlarge it), and then replace the original image with the new one.

To select a section of the image, please click on one of the corners at the top left or bottom right of the image, move the corner to a new location within the image and click again to position the corner there.

The red dotted area indicates which section of the image you have selected.

On the right side you can select an image template (if available), scale the image and display the new resolution.

Image templates with a green background can be easily applied to this image because the image size exceeds the template size.
If an image template is displayed in yellow, you can use the image template, but unfortunately the image is actually too small.

Red image templates cannot be applied to the image because the loss of quality would be too obvious.

As soon as you have finished editing, you can use "Modify image" to modify the image and save it again.

Info: The changes made here are NOT reversible. You have to upload the image again after you have changed it in this way to have the original image be available again.

Delete image

To delete the image from the server, please confirm the query. Otherwise deny it.
